Maria and Michael Oliphant

Uruguay, the second smallest country in South America, a place almost unknown outside of South America, year after year attracts significant numbers of foreigners and their capital to it's shores. Why? Probably the greatest single factor, and indicative of the culture, is that foreign investors are subject to the exact same legal framework as the citizens of Uruguay. There are no considerations particular to foreigners, no setting up of special entities for purchase, no requirement to have a local partner or any other limitation of rights. The same applies to the movement of capital, distribution of income and freedom from taxation of foreign income. Having vast undeveloped stretches of beach, a mild climate and a citizenry warm of heart and surprisingly progressive certainly are part of the attraction as well. 'Uruguay Natural' is the brand used to promote Uruguay's agricultural products as the fertility of the soil and abundance of water allow livestock to be raised free-range. But it is also applicable to the culture, quality of life and the landscape such that the elite of the arts, fashion and even finance realms come here to vacation in anonymity. At a destination such as Jose Ignacio - a little fishing village on the Atlantic coast of Uruguay; one can stay in understated, low-rise, but incredibly luxurious hotels or homes of an architectural style one newspaper described as 'shabby-chic', allowing the natural feel of a small, rural town to be maintained despite the wealth of it's visitors.

We at Focus Properties Uruguay, invite you to learn more about the opportunities available to foreign investors in Uruguay, from passive shared ownership projects to active, on-site ventures or residency. We welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you may have or to provide further information to your inquiries which can be made through our web site

Brad Emond

Brad Emond is from a small town in Northern Indiana, but don’t let that fool you! After graduating from Indiana University, he began his future with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Indianapolis. He learned a lot about running a profitable business, but most importantly about exceeding customer’s expectations. Brad was a pioneer in Enterprise’s Canadian operations, where he resided for 19 years, mostly in Toronto. After which, he started and ran his own company with two partners for six incredible years, helping homeowners learn more about their home’s energy efficiency. Brad’s understanding of exceeding customer’s expectations increased even further. Then as General Manager with One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, he took a move from Canada to Boynton Beach, Florida, and eventually relocated to Myrtle Beach. His desire to stress the importance of energized employees to exceed customer’s expectations continued to be a driving part of his leadership style at One Hour. He has been involved indirectly in the real estate world for many years. Brad is so thrilled to have found a HOME in real estate at The Trembley Group. He would love the opportunity to partner with you and exceed your expectations.

Experienced. Trusted. Inspired.
